Retired metallurgical engineer currently volunteering for the American Red Cross. Combining technical background with extensive knowledge of the organization (gained through more than years of volunteer experience at every level from envelope stuffing to serving as a board member and service chair), to help the Red Cross fully utilize modern systems at the local level. Professional experience includes over thirty years experience in materials research with a focus on foundry metallurgy and the ceramics used in the investment casting of superalloys. Received four patents in that area. Also experienced in failure analysis and environmental health and safety as it applies to research facilities.
