I have a business I am a Dementia Care Trainer. I practice and teach the Validation-type communication techniques that enable people to carefully listen and respond to a person with dementia. It is a process that establishes trust and empathy taking us beyond just caring but a deeper relationship with people coping with the diseases. This demands more of the care practitioner, not only on a deeper personal level but on understanding the disability of dementia and its impact on each individual’s ability to make themselves understood. It is not a one sided conversation, but a dynamic interaction between two people I live in a corner of South Shropshire surrounded by countryside with my family and two gorgeous  Great Danes, three alpacas, and a tortoise.
