I guess I'm approaching a juncture in life where descriptions of oneself require more and more accuracy than generally thought. I'm taking the turn towards academics that I thought I would pass over for politics; I'm hoping for ways to be more than an academic; I'm frustrated with the limits of my political thought/action and with the atmosphere of submission to war, racism, and religious fundamentalism that haunt my hometown. And I'm afraid, sometimes, that I'm abandoning my home for greener pastures when help is needed here. I'm hoping for time to sort this out...
