I have worked in both technical and management roles. In the technical field, I started as a software engineer creating programs to convert flat data into online content for the LexisNexis research system. I worked primarily with large public records oriented sources such as Dun and Bradstreet business directories, driver's license and motor vehicle records and the like. I later moved into LexisNexis Indexing and Classification team. This group wrote and maintained the software that would analyze news data for company names, person names, places, subjects and such and provide relevance scores for a given document. While a part of this organization, I spearheaded the adaptation of this proprietary software to work with industry standard XML data. During this time, I moved into technical leadership and architecture roles within the company. As I grew in my technical leadership and architecture roles, I began to learn more about project management and began to pursue work in that area. I worked as an assistant project manager on LexisNexis' XML effort and began studying for my PMP (Project Management Professional) certification. I was hired as a project manager in January of 2005 and received my PMP certification in July of 2005. Since that time, I have managed a wide variety of projects within the company, and I am now working as a project manager in our Global Enterprise Information Systems organization.
