I have more than thirty years experience as an I.T. professional including extensive experience with the IBM AS/400 / iSeries / System i platform since 1981. Throughout my career, I’ve been exposed to countless applications across numerous business sectors, held nearly every position in the field, and earned three professional certifications. In the first twenty years of my career, I achieved national recognition as an IBM midrange expert, educator, author, and lecturer. As a consultant, my primary focus is on architecting modern, System i applications. One of my greatest strengths as a “total vertical developer†is my ability to lead and perform all phases of the application design and build process: ? Accurately collect the business requirements from end users, ? Design the application using an architecture that aligns with corporate strategies, ? Translate the requirements into succinct technical specifications, ? When appropriate, implement specifications in RPG IV and SQL code that is clean, readable, maintainable, and right the first time. In 1996, I expanded my orientation to include the leveraging of information and systems to improve business performance. Having a special interest in Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence, I have also been architecting and building data warehouse databases and ETL processes that help companies use business information and technology to gain a competitive advantage.
