Steve J. Gardner is currently the founder of Infomed, a technology company solving the medical information communication problem. He is a former NC meter track and field State Champion and ACC scholarship athlete (North Carolina State University). He has co-authored peripheral vascular journal articles with clinical professors of medicine from the University of North Carolina, Duke, and Michigan State University. He has held internshipsemploymentself-directed study with focuses in Parkinson's Disease, Cardiac Electrophysiology, Interventional Cardiology, and Peripheral Vascular Disease. With his acquired connection to cardiovascular professionals, Steve co-founded a now defunct healthcare consulting group (Creative Healthcare Group). Launching from North Carolina State University, Steve served as Inaugural President of the Entrepreneurial Initiative Ambassadors and helped to lead a partnership with Coca-Cola's Give-it-Back recycling campaign and the RBC Center. With his new found interest in company formation, he was able to work with Launchbox Digital prior to its transformation into The Startup Factory. As a result of this experience, he did inboundoutbound lead generation and marketing consulting (salesforceadwordslinkedin adsblog) for the venture backed adserving startup Adzerk. Medicine is being changed from the bottom up by a Kuhnian paradigm shift occurring with Systems Biology and from the top down by the government mandated Affordable Care Act. The rate of change has just begun to increase to create a punctuated equilibrium event in the way physicians define their role in medicine. The need for a more patient centric and teaching approach is going to be necessary for Hospitals, Health Systems and Allied Health Professionals to survive this coming change.
