As Director of Marketing for the YWCA Central Carolinas, Ashley is responsible for public relations and communication initiatives for the organization. Prior to joining YWCA, she served as a Senior Account Executive/PR at LGA, was the Corporate Communications Specialist at First Citizens Bank and was Director of Public Relations at Russell & Jeffcoat Realtors, overseeing strategic PR and marketing for the company. Ashley was selected as one of Columbia's 20 Under 40 Rising Stars in Business in 2007. For all of her professional accomplishments, she was also the recipient of the 2006 Rookie of the Year Award from the South Carolina Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America. She recently received the Accreditation in Public Relations designation, the profession’s highest level of certification. In Charlotte, Ashley serves on the Charlotte American Marketing Association PR & Communications committee and is the VP, PR & Communications chair-elect for the CAMA board. She also serves on the Friends of the Library Rock n' Read 5K Committee and is a member of the national PRSA. Her past involvement includes: SCPRSA Board of Directors as Secretary and Mercury Awards chair, Healthy Learners Fund Development Board, member of the Committee of 100 and PR Director on the board for Columbia Opportunity Resource. She also served as the chair of the Clemson Young Alumni Club of Columbia and as the advisor to The Carolina Agency, USC's student-run PR agency. Among her organizational memberships, she was also a freelance writer for Columbia Metropolitan Magazine. Ashley is a graduate of Clemson University, where she received a Bachelors degree in English/Journalism and a Masters degree in Professional Communication. While at Clemson, she was highly involved in the university, serving as Graduate Student Government Vice President, Union Programs & Activities PR chair and was a member of Omicron Delta Kappa. She also wrote for The Tiger, Clemson University’s paper.
