You cannot change someone, but you can be there, supportive and caring when they want to change or grow for themselves. I am also the one everyone came to when they were troubled and needed to talk, or wanted an opinion on the new Significant Other (of course, they rarely listened if it wasn't good, but I knew that going in, and as a friend could do no less for them!) I have two strong yet comfortable shoulders, and two good ears, that are always there for those I care for.
