In all of my varied professional experiences over the past ten years, I have never been afraid to dive into a project and achieve my goals. I graduated from the University of Maryland with an honors thesis under my belt and a strong desire to work for a nonprofit that battles social inequality. Hence, my first full-time job was with Jewish Funds for Justice. During my three years there I received a terrific education about the nonprofit industry, and my professional skill set grew quite a bit. I learned database design, and found that I was particularly talented at converting large amounts of data into information that my superiors and I could easily understand and use to make strategic decisions. The most significant discovery I made in this job was that IT is an integral part of any business, and that not many firms understand or appropriately value the competitive advantages IT can create for them. While working towards my MBA at Fox, I worked with the Philadelphia Department of Commerce as well as ARAMARK to help both organizations better realize the importance of innovative IT solutions. I also became quite interested in project management during my work on various academic projects and while doing my part to help organize the Social Entrepreneurship Conference hosted by Fox Net Impact (FNI) at Temple University. The event drew over 150 attendees this year - a 40% increase over last year's attendance. My current role at BMS as an IM Associate gives me a better understanding of how IT is effectively used within a large company, as well as invaluable project management experience.
