KEY ACCOMPLISHMENTS • Water Resources Engineering: Assessed best management practices (BMPs) in the field using survey grade global positioning system (GPS) equipment and water quality data • Water Quality Data Management: Created the first geographic information system (GIS) data layer of more than 100 Nonpoint Source (NPS) projects statewide • Program Management: Submitted the North Carolina Section 319 grant package with a balanced budget of up to $4.6 million to United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) for more than three consecutive years. • Environmental Policy Development: Created standard operating procedures for the statewide program, many of which are still in place today more than a decade later • Environmental Education: Developed NPS educational materials and an annual marketing plan for general public and government use • Technical Writing: Contributed copy to WATERSHEDDS, a water quality decision support system developed by the North Carolina State University (NCSU) Water Quality Group • Stakeholder/Team-building: Annually guided the 50-member state NPS Workgroup advisory panel through the selection of NPS projects Specialties Water Resources Engineering Experience: • Nonpoint source project selection and management • ESRI GIS software: ArcInfo and ArcView • Hydraulic/water quality models (USDA): CREAMS and GLEAMS • Rosgen Stream Classification Training Technical Writing and Graphic Design Expertise: • HTML, CSS • Adobe Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Fireworks • Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
