Ash Kanagat is a DirectorInformation Technology. He is currently responsible for the Corporate wide Intranet, Knowledge Management, Social Media, Feedback and Security system platforms for the company. In addition he has additional responsibilities as an Enterprise solutions architect and Transformational leader in IT. Ash previously led the development of the next generation Intranet leveraging open source software, virtualization and web . concepts. He was also responsible for the development of a company wide blogwiki platform and the directional video platform. He had an additional responsibility of technical adviser to the Midwest CIO. Prior to this position, he was a Senior Technical Manager in Verizon responsible for Financial planning, Resource management, Offshoring and Business operations planning for the Broadband, Portal and Web Services team. He had additional responsibility for Technical Project Management, Application architecture consistency and Systems requirements. As a enterprise architect Ash created the road-map for systems evolution in Verizon Business. He was also a founding member of the Architecture Standards group. Ash was awarded a Verizon Excellence award for his contributions. Immediately prior, Ash was a architect for the e-Business group, where, since , he identified new opportunities, defined strategies and developed go-to-market business plans for new technologies. As a result, a number of key corporate productivity enhancement initiatives were implemented in Verizon including instant messaging, web-based collaboration, content delivery networks and WiFi. Ash joined GTE Wireless as a Software Engineer. He subsequently worked as an architect on eCommerce systems and Data Warehousing. He moved to Verizon Data Services in as Member of Technical Staff. Prior to joining GTE, Ash owned and operated his own company, ASI Custom Software, a software development firm for years.
