My approach to social media and internet marketing is simple. Instead of spending a fortune “buying†keywords and ads that don’t return anything we concentrate on three areas: Most people’s websites, however pretty, are simply brochures. They say nice things about the company but don’t offer anything or ask the prospect to DO something you want them to do. We fix that. Most companies don’t take a pro-active approach to internet marketing in local directories. You may be listed, but unless you maintain your own posting it is likely that the information contained is inaccurate or at least incomplete. We maintain lists of active local directories, and update your company profiles. We set up and maintain internet marketing profiles, sites, and “Fan Pages†where people can find you, follow you, and like you. We generate internet marketing campaigns and content to motivate your prospects to want to find you. There are more searches for local professional services on FaceBook and LinkedIn than Google, and you can still rank quite highly in your local area. This is a low cost, low risk internet marketing approach that can drastically grow your business without breaking your bank. There are folks I know out in the social media world who have made their entire internet marketing strategy play out of FaceBook. They have FaceBook activities, FaceBook fans, FaceBook walls, FaceBook photos, you get the idea. Others concentrate on YouTube. There are YouTube tutorials on everything from how to post a video on YouTube, to guitar lessons on YouTube, or internet marketing. I became a Linkedin junky. A good business internet marketing network on Linkedin can be 500 people or more. The internet marketing potential for LinkedIn is staggering. It is projected that LinkedIn searches for business people will top Google in the near future. I use LinkedIn pages and groups to supplement my website in all my business internet marketing efforts.
