There is certainly enough online touting my skills as a musician and my success as a music teacher. What is not usually discussed is the educational theory underlying my "New American Guitar Method" and how its dramatic success can inform education in other disciplines. Any discussion of education seems to begin with a proclamation of how technology will save it, then an out of context quote from Understanding Media. I'll spare you both. Not every tech advance is an educational advance. Consider the feeling of existential dread you experience when clicking on a Google help link and seeing the God awful video pop up, when all you wanted was an example to copy and paste. If you do not understand why the social networking data aggregation model is a priori near worthless in education, maybe you should reevaluate what your best resource really is. And ask yourself whether any given technology you are developing is more suitable for a school or a prison. Or call me and maybe I can help you out. When designing any educational framework there must be a realistic evaluation of what the goals of the system are. And teaching methods that have proven successful must not be ejected on the grounds of novelty. If you doubt my credentials, ask the best guitarists in your company who I am. They'll know me.
