After graduating from UCSD in 1979 I joined a regional CPA firm in Los Angeles that focused entirely on automobile dealerships and their owners. After passing the CPA exam in 1982, I became a partner of the firm in 1983 in charge of Audit and Management Advisory Services. The firm previously named Ralph M Rentz Accountancy Corporation then became Borbely & Donnelly Accountancy Corporation. My partner Bill Borbely handled all tax matters and I handled the rest. I do not keep my CPA certificate current as my interests and talents lie more in the operations end of the business. My consulting services currently focus on successful dealership management utilizing information technology.
