I recently graduated from Mississippi State University with a master's in Geoscience (meteorology focus), but I also a versatile background in areas including visual journalism, social media, and teaching. I also have a B.S. in Geography with a certificate in meteorology and climatology, and an outside concentration in journalism from the University of Florida. I have experience with forecasting for the Independent Florida Alligator as well as creating and distributing forecasts via social networking outlets. I also assisted with research for the Geography department as I chased sea breeze thunderstorms with my peers and professor to gather data and analyzed data for relationships with temperature, rainfall, and teleconnections in Florida. I have been very active in local organizations such as the NWAAMS chapters at my respective schools and local storm spotter networks. I participated in public outreach such as NOAA Weather Radio programming at public venues. I also participated in The Weather Challenge national forecasting competition and placed as high as th overall in the nation. In the fall of , I was first place in the nation in the graduate student category for the city of Louisville, KY and runner up for Astoria, OR. I'm also a photographer with nearly a decade of experience, with at almost three years in photojournalism. I've photographed sports, breaking news, events, speakers, and severe weather. I have experience in both editorial and public relations photography. My background includes videography and video editing, where, before joining WCTV, I have and have produced small video projects. I have taken my knowledge and experience in visual story telling, and taught Introduction to TV Production labs at Mississippi State for six semesters as a Graduate Teaching Assistant.
