I grew up in a beautiful place, Bluefield, WV. I went to art school in Pittsburgh, PA. I moved to Nashville 12 years ago. I like it here, but I still can't call it home.  For most of my time here I was the staff photographer for the Nashville Business Journal. Now I work from home running my freelance photography business and caring for my awesome toddler son Jack. I have a few press awards for my photography and have had a couple gallery shows. I've served as a mentor for younger photographers. At first I fought the digital photography revolution tooth and nail, but I now embrace it. Yet my first words to people who want to become a photographers are, "learn the real way to take pictures, if you're serious"  I am apartment dwelling, terrier owning, bald headed, tree hugging liberal Gen-Xer who loves bacon and cheese puffs!
