As a seasoned marketing communications professional, I have had a wide range of experience in such areas as public relations; advertising and promotion; brand development and management; as well as extensive work in the government/public affairs arena. In my role as the Director of Corporate Communications for the Society of Gynecologic Oncology (SGO), I am responsible for the organization’s strategic planning, marketing and communications efforts aimed at increasing membership, promotion of the gynecologic oncology profession and the education of the general public regarding the importance of women’s cancer prevention and treatment. However, as noted in my resume, I have worked for more than 26 years in the public relations, marketing communications and public affairs arenas for a host of companies and industries, ranging from consumer to business to business, and in fields as diverse as low/high tech companies and construction equipment to consumer products, restaurants, hospitals/health systems and dental benefits/insurance. I have also had extensive experience in creating and implementing public relations/media relations and marketing communications programs, developing and establishing public policy positioning and managing grassroots and professional advocacy campaigns as well as offering communications and public policy counsel to senior executives.
