More than years ago I had the opportunity to combine two different skills journalism and an understanding of technology. I started writing about the internet for publications around the world at a time when we still wrote "World Wide Web" and "electronic mail". My articles appeared in Esquire, GQ, the Financial Times and the South China Morning Post, where I had a weekly column about the world online. (I was also a TV critic for four years, but that's another story.) When social media started to become a "thing" in , I took my writing online blogging, podcasting and making videos. And I did the same for clients with a taste of the future. Today, I'm still helping companies talk to their customers and employees online. Through my company, Taleist, we create content for clients in all media and we run training courses online and across Australia for those who want to learn how to do it themselves. Our focus is on building genuine and enthusiastic audiences (anyone can buy followers) through content that interests (and occasionally even excites) them. Whatever you're looking to achieve online, it starts with great content.
