Steve Phoenix joined the US Army and worked with satellite communications for Special Weapons units while stationed overseas during the Cold War. He transitioned to the Military Police and worked extensively with Special Reaction Teams. Steve has served as a US Soldier in seven countries on four continents and participated in four separate conflicts. Upon leaving the active service, he joined the Army National Guard were he was called upon to work on the front lines during many disaster relief efforts. He began working with the US Army Special Forces in 2001, seeing duty in Afghanistan and Iraq, and shortly thereafter joined the US Government as a Protective Agent. While working in the private sector, he has owned his own businesses comprised of attorney services and personal security services & training. He has experience in investigations, security & vulnerability assessments, executive close protection, personal security training, continuity of operations, business security plans, and a comprehensive knowledge of FEMAs Incident Command System (ICS). Steve is currently working with the Georgia Army National Guard's 4th Civil Support Team (Weapons of Mass Destruction) as a training & decontamination specialist. The WMD Civil Support Teams are tasked to deploy rapidly and assist a local incident commander and provide expert technical advice on response operations as well as support the arrival of follow-on state and federal response assets. Steve has written, lectured and instructed frequently on personal security as well as international travel safety and security.
