Sometimes life is really hard. It has it's ups, downs, and unpredictability. I have learned that recently all over again. I have also learned that the only way to make it through life is standing on the Rock, firm beneath my feet. And worship... Music has always been the tool in my life to get me through literally anything. There is not an event, moment, time period, story, heartache, joy that does not have music attached to it for me. I sang at my brother-n-laws memorial service earlier this month. As I stared at the picture of him up on the slide show, I felt overwhelmed by loss and sadness. Granted, he is in heaven with the Lord now, but the only thing that got me through that service, was to sing to him. Grabbing my guitar in the quiet at night after the kids are asleep, or early in the morning is the best time to let go and allow worship to pour over me. Music is a gift. I have always felt that way. And I am so thankful that the Lord gifted me with the talent to sing, and make melody, harmony, strum a chord or two. Nothing I take for granted, and I am humbled every time. There is nothing like feeling the spirit move in a room full of highschool teenagers, or sitting in a circle with close friends singing worship songs, leading a communion service in a candle lit sanctuary, or getting on the stage with all the lights and sounds and energy and performing... ahhh! nothing greater than music.
