Racism the feud between light skinned blacks and dark skinned blacks in the south.3.) film "the immigrant" (suspense/thriller).I was born on saturday, October 17, 1970 (sweetest day) in Detroit, Michigan, born into a single parent household, raised in Highland Park, Michigan. My mother did her best to bring me and my sister up right, but I chose to let the streets raise me (see New Jack City...yes the movie). making many mistakes in life, I decided to go to the Marine Corps to make a better life for myself. after a failed attempt at making the military my life I then came back home to Detroit, Michigan only to be a work-a-holic. working my but off never got me to where I wanted to be, so I then delved into many different activities in an attempt to become "Rich." I then went to cosmetology school, and became a licensed nail technician, I attended school for auto mechanics, and I attended Detroit Entrepreneurial Institute for business management all while waiting tables at two to three different restaurants in the metro detroit area. Tired of the life I led, I then felt it was time for a change in careers. I began driving the bus for the city of Detroit Department of Transportation (Ddot). while there I had an exemplary record, attendance was excellent, my work was well commended, and I was the most reliable employee they had ever hired. Always willing to work over anytime they asked. unable to work and complete my schooling at the same time, I had to take some time off driving for the city. I then went to Specs Howard School of Broadcast arts where I completed a dual concentration in audio and video production with a 3.55 G.P.A., making perfect attendance and the dean's list there. After completing my vocation at Specs Howard and ready for the world of broadcasting, I then went on to seek work in television. While unable to find work in my field at the time, I worked on a local movie set with thoughts collide productions filming "Inzer0- fragile wings" and awaiting the city to call me back to work. While awaiting Ddot's call back to work, i received and email from Durham Area Transit Authority (D.A.T.A), showing interest in me driving the city bus for them. In a desperate attempt to secure employment, I jumped at the chance to come here and interview for the job with D.A.T.A. with things not going so well at home I left for Durham, North Carolina in hopes to secure a job. after arriving, I interviewed with D.A.T.A. the following day, all seemed to go well, so I waited around for the outcome of the interview. About a month later I called D.A.T.A and they informed me that they found better qualified applicants. I found this hard to believe seeing as how I have experience driving a bus for a major metropolitan city, clean record, no points on my license, and they train their drivers before putting them on the road. this now gave me a grudge against the bus system here which I think is very unorganized, and unprofessional. Most of their drivers are not courteous at all, and they treat passengers like the scum of the earth. With that being said how could I not be qualified for this job. The worse part about it was I was so sure of landing this job because of my qualifications that I stayed in a homeless shelter awaiting their decision to hire me, and I have never stayed in a shelter a day in my life before coming to Durham, NC. I then met a wonderful woman that i fell in love with and a year later we decided to get married. only for her to file false allegations on me in order to acquire her green card, and in order for her to do that she had to file for asylum. which means she had to prove her life was in danger...so therefore she lied and used me for that purpose...my journey has led me through many ups and downs, mostly downs since arriving here in North Carolina, but God sent me here for a reason and I have believed that since my arrival here...everything i have come here for has been rejected. He has shown me other things greater, the price has not been easy getting me to see it, but it has definitely been worth the trip. I am now pursuing my bachelors in broadcast media, my reason for going to school was to give myself something to do since I was not working. This gives me a chance to get a degree in the field that I have the skills in, and also allows me to better market myself and network at the same time. God has even taken the bad experiences I have encountered and instructed me to make a movie about this incident.
