Scott Leamon

Male, 45 years old

I’ve been creating interactive websites for more than 12 years and experienced the myriad evolutionary steps of the web firsthand – from the birth of online social interaction in old-school platforms like Usenet, to the psychologically-infused approach to online presence through user experience and interface (UX/UI) design. It’s no wonder my passion for crafting beautiful, functional interfaces has only grown stronger. My style is holistic. Whether working with clients, teams or on my own, I assess the goals, review and utilize user data, plan an approach that works for both users and the client; and then design a brand-cohesive product. Data+strategy+aesthetics=a successful product. I am first, a user experience interface designer and strategist. Second, I’m an accomplished documentary filmmaker and musician, most recently the Associate Producer for PBS production “Landslide: A Portrait of Herbert Hoover.” My film and music background give me an additional set of creative tools to apply to interactive design and strategy. Like film, a website needs to tell a story, and similar to music, an interface needs form, harmony and juxtaposition to communicate a message and evoke an emotional response. I take pride in knowing that my projects are built of substance and vision, which has proven successful for my clients and employers; including Furman University, Whitman College and Stamats Communications. And gratification in my work comes when a team or client I’m working with gets the big payoff at the end of an amazing process of interface design and development. I’m constantly trying to push the envelope in aesthetics and content delivery methods. What propels me is the belief that you are only as good as your last work! ~Me Specialties user experience, web design, interactive strategy, film making, music composition, technology, satire read more ...
