Umm...yeah, the name is Ryan, I am a student at Gonzaga University and my life is good. I just turned twenty and realized what a wonderful life I've had. I am a happy person who believes in people. I absolutly love people, all people and am always looking for a friend that can share in the same joys and saddnesses as I. There are so many things I wish I could say, how I wish that we all could live in a world that was open and accepting, how much I wish that we didn't have to feel ashamed of something beautiful, and how I wish that people like us didn't have to suffer as many of us have. I do know one thing though, and that is life is beautiful and I'll be damned if anyone tries to tell me different. By questioning what is, I am happy, and to have happiness after all of these years definatly puts life into perspective. Anyway, I'm on here now just to say I'm here, I'm someone you can talk to, someone you can be happy with, and someone who won't make you feel ashamed of who you are. Just looking for good people, and friends to just talk with. To experience life with. So yeah, I know, hippish, but I don't care, because that's how I genuinely feel. So take it how you want. But most importantly enjoy life. to borrow from the hours,"you cannot find peace, by avoiding life"... let it be. If you want to chat my AIM is aim:soccermaximum15 so fell free to say hi. I'm 20, and like to think I'm down to earth. Don't really drink, don't really smoke, don't really party, just love movies, hiking, talking and going to Manito, pl;us a million and one other things, but that's just too many to list. I like to have fun ( ie...waliking around the davenport hotel in my bathrobe pretending I'm a snooty englishman, going on adventures at two in the morning, finding unknown places, pretending its someones birthday and geting people to sing to them, murder mysteries) being crazy, but fun. anyway, I'm someone who loves life, and yeah. good luck in whatever you are looking for Did you know..... Alexander the Great, Socrates, Walt whitman, Oscar Wilde, Virginia Woolfe, Andy Warhol, Michelangelo, Leonardo Da Vinci, Herman Melville, Tchaikovsky, Julius Caeser, Augustus Caeser, Marie Antionette, Melissa Ethridge, Elton John, Langston Hughes, Greg Loudanis, Billie Jean King, HAns Christian Anderson, J Edgar Hoover, Rock Hudson, Frida Kahlo, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Janis Joplin, Aristotle, James Dean .... Are all gay!! Just so you know!!! What is the world without both happiness and suffering, for what is happiness without suffering? Does happiness mean as much, if one has not suffered? But is one better than the other? For if happiness can only truly be known if suffering has been involved, then wouldn't that mean that suffering was a good thing as well, for it would be a prerequisite for happiness? Therefore, is it really evil or wrong, and furthermore, is there even evilness or such thing as being wrong, if being wrong, can only lead you to something that is "right"? or "good" just a thought Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it. ~Buddha "The Truth and the Lie went down to the river to take a swim. It was a beautiful sunny day and the water was especially inviting; so they both jumped in to play. While the Truth was underwater, the Lie slipped out of the river, stole the Truth's clothes, put them on, and ran to the marketplace, where he paraded as the Truth. Everyone at the marketplace assumed the Lie was the Truth, because he was, of course, dressed as the Truth. When the Truth realized that the Lie was gone from the river, he got out of the water, only to discover his clothes were gone. At first he did not know what to do and he was ashamed. So he went to the marketplace as the Naked Truth and no one would look at him. Everyone thought the Lie (dressed as the Truth) was indeed the Truth, and preferred to look at what they thought was the Truth, and not the real, and Naked Truth. " (Reference Tawna Pettiford-Wates, The Congress on Race Relations, Gonzaga University, April 30, 2003) The truth shall set you free...be honest with yourself and the world and you won't be ashamed. Moral cowardice that keeps us from speaking our minds is as dangerous to this country as irresponsible talk. The right way is not always the popular and easy way. Standing for right when it is unpopular is a true test of moral character. ~Margaret Fuller The country we are living in has no clue what it's like to face the pain, the hurt, and the saddness that most of us have had to face. But through the blood sweat and tears I hope that all of you can some what see the beauty of life. It is with this beauty, and knowledge of the fact that what and who we are is now ugly, is not perverted, and not wrong. If each and everyone of you look within your heart I think that you will see that it is just the opposite. And with this truth I hope that all of you can be brave enough to show the world that the time is now. We can not let America end our hopes for a better life, a better world. IF we are not given the right to marry, imagine the future generations of gay youth, who like us, who will not have gay role models and figures of high esteem, one less thing to live for. Do what you can, where you can, just try your best to make sure that this doesn't happen. And ohh...go outside...look at the beauty around you and be greatful that you can have that in your life and then you will see truth. A dream is achieved simply by trying... if you do your best that's all you can ask. I'd just like to make a note of the fact that one of the hardest things for any gay person to come to terms with is the idea of love between two people of the same gender. For me it was the hardest thing to overcome. I mean day in and day out for most of our lives we have been bombarded with heterosexual love, and it is sometimes so hard for us to stray away from that...however at the same time...we can't help but stray away. We are in an era where there are no boundaries or rules for how we are to love. With this in mind, I think it is kind of cool because we are the creators of our own destiny, the masters of our universe and the pioneers of tomorrow. It is up to us as gay youth today, to define for ourselves what love is and what it means. It is up to us as gay youth to set a precedent for all those that follow in our footsteps, a guiding light, one ounce of hope for something better in our lives than what we had before. Therefore we have the opporitunity to make love something so blessed and sacred adn somethingtruly beautiful so that generation after generation will have something to live up to. It all begins with us boys, it all begins with us. Remember that our lives are not just about sex, or our hormones, these are merely aspects of our entire lives. Our bodies will die and rot away one day, so it is up to us to find the deeper meaning in our lives. To find love beyond out primitive feelings of lust and desire, but to see deeper into each others souls and at the core of our existence. To search within each other to find the true beauty of life, and to live for love. To love a person for who they are is a beautiful thing adn we all have the capability of doing so. It's just about seeing the heart and the soul and knowing that you can never let that go. BREATHE AND KNOW THAT YOU ARE NOT ALONEread more ...read less ...
