Richard J. Dalton Jr. writes the biweekly Consumer Watch column dealing with a host of consumer-protection issues ?- loan fraud, title insurance scams and retail/service problems. He also covers personal technology for the Business & Technology section. He has worked on special projects for Newsday for 10 years. Dalton, who grew up on Long Island, also has taught journalism courses at Stony Brook University.
