Paul Dunn

Male

I have been working in the Hard Disk/Storage Industry for the past 24 years since my graduation from Boston University (B.S. Electrical Engineering) in 1987, starting with Digital Equipment Corporation and working for many of the major data storage companies (Maxtor, Iomega, Seagate, Quantum) as well as taking some risks with several start-up ventures (PrarieTek, Tamarack, Ecrix, and Xiotech). Even though I have worked in a variety of positions through the years, I have consistently been given performance ratings at the highest level available. In fact, in annual performance reviews to date, I have been given the highest performance rating available in over half of my performance reviews. If I don’t have the exact industry skills you are looking for, please consider this proven track record of success even while I faced new challenges. (Prior performance reviews are available at request.) With five patents, my primary technical background is in the field of data storage. I have held positions in Servo Engineering (analog/digital sampled data control systems), Test Engineering, Read Channel Engineering (RF communication channel), and management (engineering and business). KEY TALENTS– I have a passion for “great” work (planning and delivering a total solution that exceeds the expectations of the customer), I learn very quickly, I am capable of working in a wide variety of fields, and I am a good leader and facilitator. One final note is that I believe I am a well-rounded person. I enjoy working with and being around others. My other interests include: cycling, running, swimming, golf, and other activities. I enjoy reading about world events, financial markets, and economics. In 1996 I was a member of the U.S. National Duathlon (running/cycling) team. I have twice competed at the triathlon world championships. Specialties Thorough knowledge of data storage, test hardware and test process design, experiment design and statistical data analysis, signal processing algorithm design/test/implementation (MATHCAD, MATLAB), control system design, electrical hardware, assembly language and “C” real time embedded firmware, C# and Visual Basic host software development, script language development, and using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, emulators, and data acquisition systems. read more ...
