Our mission was to "digitize the most important books in every field of human knowledge and make them available on CD ROM." In we founded Ancestry.com--to put all the world's genealogy records online. We launched in June with million public records for genealogists. For everyone else, we launched MyFamily.com in --private sites for families. It became the fastest growing social site to date. We raised million in venture capital with this idea. We were a top photo sharing site by . At our peak, we were # in the U.S. for page views of all internet properties. We didn't IPO in as hoped. To survive, we cut expenses, and raised our million Series E. With the focus on Ancestry.com revenue, the vision of giving free sites to every family in the world was lost. I left as VP Marketing () after we were profitable. Ancestry is worth nearly billion. I did okay financially but not as well as people assume. As Ray Noorda (Novell) quipped, "finders keepers, founders weepers." In I started FamilyLink.com to connect families worldwide. After meeting Mark Zuckerberg at the Facebook f platform launch we built a Facebook app, "We're Related." It went viral and got million users in years. Fastest growing company I've ever been involved in. In Facebook changed the rules for apps and we lost of our traffic and revenue. In late we sold the genealogy portion of our business to MyHeritage and in we sold our app to Ancestry.com. In I joined Gallup in Washington, DC to build a worldwide strengths movement. Nearly million people have taken the StrengthsFinder . talent assessment. We want to help a billion people discover their strengths with the help of a million trained strengths coaches.
