I am a software architect specializing in service-oriented systems using Microsoft technologies. I have experience designing, creating, and supporting various types of systems from desktop apps to multi-user distributed systems and processes. I have worked as a network administrator, developer, project manager, product manger, and solution architect. I have used a variety of technologies over the years. I started with VB, COM, ASP and HTML. I started working with .NET when it was in beta. My current toolset of choice includes .NET, SQL Server, Visual Studio and Team Foundation Server. I am passionate about architecture patterns and principles. I'm very excited about the industry's move toward service orientation. It is not a silver bullet, but it's a great way to build systems that play well with others and last for a long time. I strive to apply proven software lifecycle management processes to my projects. I championed the adoption of TFS for source control and work item tracking. I introduced my department to automated builds and helped multiple groups get them set up. I'm working on selling the benefits of unit testing, which is starting to take hold. I really enjoy working in IT, especially with software development. There is so much to learn, loads of opportunity, and a constant stream of new ideas. Specialties SOA, .NET, SQL Server, TFS, WCF, WF, COM, XML, VB, HTML, Unit Testing, Automated Builds, Event Driven Architecture (EDA), and Web Services.
