I am fairly skilled in written, oral and interpersonal communication with persons of varied educational, professional, ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds and spend a great deal of time working to hone these skills through participation in a local Toastmasters' group. I have developed, maintained and edited a number of personal and organizational web sites, and have demonstrated expertise in Windows and Macintosh-based word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software. I have been described as a team player, but I can also lead, train, motivate and work independently. I enjoy languages; playing around with the English language as a writer of opinion and news pieces for different media sources. However, I also have an interest in foreign languages and cultures, including Spanish (intermediate level) and German (rudimentary to elementary).
