After more than a decade in book and magazine publishing, I recently began also offering my services to public policy, advocacy, and direct-service organizations and added online content management to the mix. As an online content manager, I have managed a client's Twitter account and produced a steady stream of blog content by writing articles myself and soliciting content from both staff members and outside contributors. My written work has also appeared in the Chicago Tribune, Sojourners, the Christian Century, the newsletter of the Christian Community Development Association, and elsewhere. In 2008 one of my articles on voting rights was published in a Norton anthology of writings on politics. In 2009 Cascade published my edited collection of addresses from a conference on cynicism and hope. I have also written curriculum and successful grant proposals. As an editor for university presses, I became the go-to freelancer when a manuscript was especially challenging to work with. I have developed a reputation for effective author diplomacy and exceptionally clean edits. Since 2005 I have been the copy editor for the award-winning book-review section of the Christian Century. I am also the top-of-the-list freelance book indexer for a major university press. Specialties As a writer: careful research; clear, analytical writing; clean finished products.
