I'm an easy going, fun loving graduate student in Santa Cruz. I didn't exactly plan on getting a Ph.D. when I started looking for grad schools, but now I'm glad I'm going for it. I may even finish in the next year or two! In the past year, I've learned how to like wine (though I'm still working on red wines) and scotch (wish I could try a 30 year!). I still don't like beer. I love to cook, and also bake, especially for more people than just me. My favorites are seafood, italian food, american food, and "fusion" (which I define as whatever the hell I want to slap together). Outside the house, I love to run, am learning to love biking again (but I need the clip pedals to really enjoy it around here... hills suck). I wish I could go ocean kayaking more often and hope to one day own a clear kayak (is that a great white down there?). I also like playing volleyball. I love the beach and wish I could spend all day sitting in the sand doing my work (unless its cold or raining). I also like hiking and camping. Other things I'm into are photography (mostly landscapes) and music (I play the piano).read more ...read less ...
