Focus on VAT-efficient supply chain management, implementation of VAT fiunctionality in accounting systems, pre- and post-M&A diligence and integration, VAT recovery optimization. Mark moved to the U.S. in 2001 after having worked and lived in Singapore and his native country, the Netherlands. Drawing from almost 20 years of world-wide VAT experience, he advises U.S. companies on managing their non-U.S. transaction taxes. His particular focus is on M&A related consulting, supply chain strategy support and more recently on advising multinationals on the tax functionality of their logistics and accounting systems. Mark authored an extensive portfolio of articles and other publications on VAT, and speaks frequently on seminars. He was the co-author of one of the first books on the tax implications of e-commerce ("Caught In The Web", FED / Kluwer 1998). Mark joined Coopers & Lybrand in 1991, shortly after graduating from law school in The Netherlands. He founded US VAT, Inc. in August 2010, after having spent almost 20 years as dedicated VAT expert at PwC and Deloitte. Mark maintains his office in New York City.
