With 30 years of manufacturing experience behind me, I've put to use more of my electronics interests and joined the telecommunications field as an RF technician, with a strong interest in learning more about circuit and packet switching, SONET, T-Carrier, SS7, etc. My work background consists primarily of 30 years of hi-tech & precision mfg. plant design, layout, installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance, primarily CD & DVD replication. All phases of equipment installation, maintenance and repair: preventative, routine, overhaul and rebuild, including but not limited to: injection moulding, incl. drying & conveying systems; pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems; PLC-based controls; industrial robotics; high-voltage AC; vacuum metallizing & sputtering; lacquer spin-coating & UV curing; Six-color screen printing & prep thereof; jewel case, Amray box, automated sleeve packaging, and overwrapping of every type. Responsible for everything: -Drafting the floor plans -Preparing electrical; compressed air; chillers & pumping systems; drainage, ventilation & exhaust -Meet & comply with OSHA, EPA, State & Local codes on all levels, for all utilities -Layout, stocking, & inventory of parts warehouse and toolroom -Instruct & supervise up to 30 employees in all phases of the manufacturing process -Establish procedures & methods, and improve upon as needed through time/motion studies -Establish machine processes through strict quality assurance for optimum yield/minimum downtime -service and repair both equipment and facilities: machinery, process control, rebuild/rework moulds, plumbing repairs, A/C servicing, replacing lamps in the parking lot, etc., etc. -Established excellent rapport vendors yet worked continously sourcing parts, supplies & services at not just the lowest price, but for the best value in terms of cost vs. quality -Set up & maintain corporate ethernet, incl. server, file, scanner & printer sharing, DSL internet access Specialties Licensed amateur, k6msb; ran radio station from bedroom while in jr. high; built "audio limiter" using LED & a photocell in a pill bottle. Had 3rd class FCC radio-telephone operators license w/ broadcast endorsement while in high school. Built device to listen to data signals to assist troubleshooting; won 'Technician of the Year' after 3 months at job. Build my own computers since 1997; good with hardware, OS, Ethernet & wireless networking, 802.xx., and very (very!!) good at troubleshooting.
