Also known as: dadigan

I'm freelance writer, photographer and radio reporter who specializes in immersion and narrative journalism. I'm currently living as a journalist-in-residence with the Winnemem Wintu tribe outside Redding, California, where I'm working on a book (tentatively titled Salmon, Come Home - Nur Tipa Bos) about the Winnemem's spiritually guided salmon restoration plan and their advocacy for water conservation. My work has been published in the Christian Science Monitor, California Watch, the Oregonian, the High Desert Journal, the GlobalPost, the High Country News and Free Speech Radio News among other outlets. In August , I earned my master's degree from the University of Oregon in literary nonfiction where I also took photojournalism and documentary production. The short film I co-produced for the documentary class, The Architect of Sound, was aired on Oregon Public Broadcasting. Previously, I was the seminars coordinator for the National Education Writers Association where I organized professional development seminars for journalists on a range of education topics from college costs to charter schools and vouchers. I produced and edited EWA's first podcasts, as well as began the development of an education beat wiki for the organization's members. I also wrote and edited research briefs and promotional materials for EWA. Before that, I was a daily newspaper reporter for about four years covering both police and schools. As an education reporter in Georgia, I covered two K- districts as well as a community college and two private liberal arts colleges.
