I believe that strong communities are critical to the success of individuals, families, cities, and the world. In , I moved back to St. Louis after spending more than a decade experiencing life in other cities each with their own advantages and challenges. I returned home with a passion for community-focused work and the desire to apply what I had learned. Now working with the Skinker DeBaliviere neighborhood, I partner with residents, businesses, institutions, and other stakeholders to enhance one of St. Louis most diverse, historic neighborhoods. Last year I led community events facilitated eight resident committees addressing topics like Safety, Neighborhood Services, and Community Arts and assisted with the development of our neighborhood Master Plan, a multi-year place-based planning initiative that earned the Community Builders Network Nonprofit Award. I am also a cofounder of GoodMap, a non-profit social enterprise that is building an online tool to improve the way we find, share, and organize information about community resources. GoodMap won , in seed funding from the Youthbridge Social Enterprise and Innovation Competition. In -, I was one of fellows in the St. Louis Regional Arts Commissions innovative Community Arts Training (CAT) Institute.
