I received the inaugural Presidential Citizen’s Medal from President Barack Obama at the White House in August of 2010. The award recognizes my work over more than 20 years to help those most in need in my community through the founding of the Inspiration Cafe. In my work at the Cafe, and before that as a Chicago Police Officer. Specialties I have gained a wide range of unique skills as a community leader, organizer, business owner, fund raiser, educator and speaker.
