Veteran digital and Internet strategist focused on modernizing business practices and communications. I founded MarCom:Interactive, a digital media consultancy, in 1999 and in 2008 launched Modern Media Leadership Institute, focused on professional development in web-based business practices and social media. Over my career I have strategized digital business initiatives, marketing and online media relations for many of the largest global consumer, retail and tourism brands; government agencies; global marketing agencies; and online companies. I've produced hundreds of web sites and digital campaigns, as well as dozens of complex online/TV broadcasts, including during the 2002 and 2008 Olympics, and for major political events. Since 2004, clients have called on me to evolve their business practices into social media. Most recently, I have been assisting large organizations in navigating risk management and policy for the digital age. I have been training corporate executives and communications professionals in updating their practices and leadership skills for operating successfully in the digital age since the early 1990's. Other professional activities include Web Wise Kids, where I sit on the advisory board; participating on the Digital Literacy Committee for the State of California; acting as a consulting council analyst for the Gerson Lehrman Group; and training on new media topics for the State of California. I participate on the Web 2.0 advisory committee for California State University, Fullerton.
