About Kim Carter Counseling: Holistic: I practice a holistic approach that considers all aspects which make up an individual- including mind, body and spirit. A person’s wellbeing is rarely dependent upon one factor alone. Clients are encouraged to explore all aspects of their wellbeing to determine the best plan of treatment. Ingenuity: Humans are infinitely creative. I honor the creative spirit in each of us and use that creativity to find healing and wellness. Services are offered in a variety of new modalities in order to provide effective and efficient treatment. Genuine: I operate from a place of authenticity and encourage clients to do the same. I genuinely care for my clients and their wellbeing. I believe that being true to oneself creates a sense of calm and balance within oneself and part of my work with clients is to be in touch with that true self. Safe: I provide a kind, caring, empathic environment where it is safe to explore difficult issues. What we discuss in session will remain confidential.* About Kim Carter: I am a lover of life and a spiritual being. I started my journey towards becoming a psychotherapist several years ago in my undergraduate studies, where I focused on family systems and child psychology. In the intervening years I worked with people in numerous helping positions as an advocate, adult education provider, mental health skills trainer, program counselor and group home manager. I have most recently further developed my counseling skills by working with families and children providing in-home therapy, as well as providing both group and individual therapy for the past year at Chrysalis- A Center for Women.
