My first internship was as a production intern for NBCUniversal's Maury Show where they invited me back to do free lance work for them. This exciting and hands-on experience sparked my interest in the television field and reconfirmed my passion for communication. I studied abroad at Macquarie University in Australia (Feb-June '). Besides taking classes, I also provided video blogs for their international department and completed an internship at a small social media agency in the heart of Sydney. After returning back to America, I worked as Assistant Director of a Nike Running Camp in my hometown of Newtown, C.T. where I had been a camp counselor in previous summers. I graduated from Marist College magna cum laude in May where I was very involved on campus. I was captain of the women's rugby club. I earned this position after seasons of dedication to the team on and off the field, including my year spent as the Vice President of the club. Being involved in the rugby club helped me acquire the position of Club Sports Representative on the Club Affairs Board within the Student Government Association for the - school year. Currently, I am continuing my education for two more years at Illinois State University working towards my Master's degree in Communication. While taking classes, I am also working as a Graduate Teaching Assistant where I am responsible for teaching an introductory communication course to undergraduate students. My research thus far has been on organizational communication and small group communication, focusing on increasing team performance. Specifically I enjoy looking at interdependent sports team performance, but many of my findings can be applied to organizational teams as well. I am looking to combine my passion for sports, communication, and travelling by one day aspiring to work for the Olympics or USA Rugby doing anything and everything from event planning, youth development, production, social media and more
