I am a software engineer with a real interest in front-end design and development. Unfortunately for myself, the engineer and designer career paths start at different ends of the academic spectrum. As a result, I found my happy place in the user interaction layer, building extensible and reusable JavaScript frameworks. In addition, I have written many JavaScript plugins, some of which have been featured on sites such as AJAX Rain and Ajaxian. I am also an active jQuery contributer and I stay current with most of the happenings in the JavaScript library world. JavaScript aside, I am more than capable with working in other layers of development. Fortunate or unfortunate, however you may look at it, I have worked in many small start ups. As a direct result, I have been forced to learn, implement, and deliver production-ready code on many levels of the internal systems I worked with. Outside of the workplace I spend my time trying to become a better programmer and a better person. I frequently read books about programming and blog about my various flirtations with programming. I also stay active athletically by playing organized hockey and basketball, and in my community by going to sustainability conferences and similar events. Specialties I try not to say I'm a specialist because programming is my hobby as well as my vocation. If anything, I am a hobbyist, and my real passion is for JavaScript. I also tend to lean towards mobile development (especially if it leverages JavaScript). Outside of that, I've worked with many layers and I would be more than happy to tell you more about it outside of this textbox. read more ...
