Armed with a relentless hustle and never say die attitude Blizz is one of the hardest working people in Kentucky’s hip hop scene. It has been this hard work that has made Blizz one of the top producers in the region.In 1998, Blizz took his stance behind the turntables and began perfecting the craft of being the life of the parties, the dj. By 2001 he had already became one of the main dj booked for all venues in the surrounding areas. Also, around this time is when his love for music took him down a completely different path he had always had an interest in. During the fall of 2001, Basshead Ent. was created, along with a partner and fellow artist Jason “Newtral” Newton. They released several projects, but the lack of the sound quality left Blizz feeling not up to par with what was going on in the industry. In 2004, Blizz took some time off to step his game up behind the scenes of music and enrolled at Full Sail, and earned a degree in Recording Arts. In 2005, he took his degree and applied it to the real world where he began working at Omni Sound Studios in Nashville. Although the information gained while working there helped him to become the producer and engineer he is now, the void for hip-hop was something that couldn’t be filled. He immediately moved back to Owensboro, and took over where he had left off. Soon after, Basshead mixtapes were flooded throughout the streets and clubs creating a buzz that led up to the disk that cemented Basshead into the talk among the regional hip-hop scene, Industry Takeover. With the success of Industry Takeover, Blizz took Basshead to every venue possible, performing, promoting, and even using the Basshead name to host some of the hottest parties in the area.Currently, Blizz has stepped back and began working hard on producing. Making beats for various artists all over the country, and running FE Studios. He has now made his studio into the one stop shop for artists looking for; beats, studio time, graphics, and duplication. Now looking forward to starting 2009 in regular Blizz fashion, he will get right back to pounding the pavements with his new project Industry Takeover 2.
