Jason Loftis received his undergraduate degree in education with an emphasis in history and social studies. In addition to teaching, Jason spent a decade in Christian ministry both in US churches and on the mission field overseas. Along the way, a growing passion for visual communication and web technology led Jason to pursue a career as a visual designer and web developer. From to , Jason studied at Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California. He participated in a unique program at its Brehm Center that blends the study of theology with an exploration of art and culture. Students are expected to maintain an art portfolio in concert with their theological studies. During this season as a full-time student, Jason freely took on freelance graphic and web design projects. These projects gave him the opportunity to build his portfolio and provided the challenges he needed to expand his abilities as a self-taught designer. After studying at Fuller, Jason took a visual design position with Slacker.com, an internet radio company in San Diego. This was a valuable learning experience, and he enjoyed working in a collaborative, creative environment. Unfortunately, Jason was laid off in December of due to the economic recession that took its toll on so many industries. In , Slacker began using Jason's graphic design services again on a contract basis. Since , Jason has pursued visual design and web development as a full-time freelancer. He's completed projects for several small businesses, churches, individuals, and non-profits. Designing custom WordPress themes is now an expertise. And he is an experienced developer on the ExpressionEngine content management system. Jason has a passion for web standards, and he strives to keep up with the latest web design trends like HTML, CSS, and "responsive" design practices for mobile devices.
