James Stuckey , President and CEO of Verdant Properties, LLC, has a long history of leading businesses to success. For James Stuckey, it follows many years of development experience. Early in his professional career, James Stuckey was appointed president of the New York City Public Development Corporation. Coming on board with Gronich Company, James Stuckey served in commercial leasing and is perhaps best known for his work to restore the New Amsterdam Theater. In fact, following successful negotiations by James Stuckey, the New Amsterdam Theater became a venue for some of Disneys most well known theatrical productions. His work on the World Trade Centers Russian Trade and Cultural Center also earned James Stuckey the Most Ingenious Deal of the Year award. After leaving Gronich Company, James Stuckey joined the team at Forest City Ratner Companies, where he oversaw the development of such high-profile projects as the Harlem Center and the Hilton Hotel located in Times Square. Following the September attacks, James Stuckey oversaw the construction of the first Class A office complex to be completed following the disaster. The complex became home to Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield, a company that had formerly occupied one of the twin towers. James Stuckey also helped with relocating the Bank of New York after the disaster. James Stuckey became the divisional dean of New York Universitys Schack Institute of Real Estate, where he helped create a Masters Degree program in real estate development at the school. During his tenure, James Stuckey also helped build the Center for the Sustainable Built Environment, a research program geared toward promoting research in order to develop sustainable practices in real estate and construction. James Stuckey holds two masters degreesone from St. Johns University and the other from St. Josephs Seminary Institute for Religious Studies. Often lecturing at universities that include Harvard and Columbia, James Stuckey and his family reside in Florida, where he enjoys photography, bicycling, and music.
