Evans has worked for such major players in the IT industry as General Electric, IBM, and Covad Communications. His many job titles include: Field Service Representative, Help Desk Technician, Network Engineer, Network Monitoring Specialist and many more. Evans made the jump into management in 1998 when he became Director of Technical Support for Word Records, a division of Gaylord Entertainment. Since then, he has been a Senior Manager of Network Activations for Bluestar Communications, a General Manager for Vivo Communications, a Manager with ISDN.Net, a Senior IT Advisor with Metropolitan Government of Nashville, TN, and more. In 2001, Evans was introduced to professional project management and was drawn to the organization and efficiency of the PMBOK methodology. Since then, he has been involved in projects in roles ranging from Executive Sponsor to Project Manager and has been pursuing project management as his primary career role ever since. Recently Evans became certified in IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundations and received his Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute. Most recently, Evans has worked with the State of Tennessee Department of Safety to implement IBM FileNet Enterprise Content Management solutions to streamline their handgun permitting and drivers licensing processes. As Project Manager, Evans achieved levels of team building, communications, and commitment that had not been seen before at TDOS. Evans received his BS degree from Middle Tennessee State University and is currently a freelance contractor offering services in project management, business process analysis and design, custom application development, and technology consulting and design.
