I came of age in an exciting time technology wise. Spending my teenage years on the Apple and Commodore . Paying for my undergraduate degree in computer science as a contract programmer doing IBM PC software. As a result, I developed a passionate drive for working with personal computing devices that persists even today. I have spent the majority of my professional career in increasing levels of engineering personnel management responsibility. Picking up a graduate degree in Computer Science along the way. As a technical leader, I maintain both a passion for technology and a reputation for ruthless decisiveness. My attention to detail is honed from many award winning projects and years of end user facing experience. I can point to an Apple Design Award for the passion that went into IBM ViaVoice, and numerous other industry awards for similar end user focused products. My depth comes from a career exclusively focused on consumer oriented technology micros-embedded-mobile. And one where I both directly execute performance management on the team as well as actively participate in code development. Currently I am leading mobile development of native apps for IBM Connections, a social business software offering in both SaaS and on-premise. Mine is an Agile environment that thrives on planned innovation and the fundamental premise that native code yields a vastly superior user experience over web based approaches. Our primary focus is on Apple iOS and Google Android. But we also do development on BlackBerry OS. When I am not working on the next big thing in mobility then I am probably being a doting father, in the World of Warcraft arena or some League of Legends, tinkering with my Chevy, restoring vintage s technology, doing some rifle or handgun shooting at the range, or just doing some iOS coding to relax.
