Before coming to Greylock, David spent over seven years in product management and development at consumer internet, gaming, and media companies ranging in size from small startups through publically traded companies. David was employee number and the first consumer product marketing hire at Excite.com in early . He held roles as GM of Excite.com and VP of Content and Programming for the Excite Network and eventually became SVP of Product Strategy at Excite and then Excite@Home until early when he joined Greylock. Before Excite, David was in product marketing at Electronic Arts and in product development at Crystal Dynamics, a gaming start-up later acquired by Eidos Interactive. He started his career in management consulting with Marakon Associates and The Boston Consulting Group, and he also spent time at HBO.
