I bring over thirty years of experience in all aspects of the software business, ranging from building teams to distributed architecture to business development. In past five years alone, I've been involved in building and launching the word's first private equity exchange, one of the first voice-enabled search apps for mobile (with ATT Labs), ATT's Cloud Foundry team in Palo Alto, several innovative social media applications on both Web and mobile platforms, and the first PaaS for secure realtime messaging. And that's not counting the work I've done with Panda Strike that we're not able to talk about yet. ) I've created or contributed to a variety of popular open source projects and given numerous talks on everything from building hypertext APIs in Ruby to load testing with Node.js. I've also written some widely read articles on topics ranging from social media to API design, featured on Gizmodo, Business Insider, HackerNews, and elsewhere. I build innovative, high-performing engineering teams that execute and have fun doing it. Among other things, I'm proud to have encouraged and cultivated thought leadership and shared learning within the technology community. My teams have helped start no less than four highly successful LA meetups, including LA Ruby, js.la, LA DevOps, LA HackNight, and have supported, via sponsorship or hosting, numerous others, including GirlsInTech and PyLadies. Members of my teams have gone on to leadership roles in organizations such as EdgeCast, Disney, and ATT. I've recently launched a new consultancy, Panda Strike, focused on rich client, high-performance Web and mobile experiences and lightweight solutions for big data, focused on CoffeeScript, Node.js, and a stack of innovative open source technologies. read more ...
