Bio

I am a career development nerd, with a new found love of the chaos theory of career development. I recently received my Master of Arts in College Student Development, Student Affairs Practice, from Appalachian State University. As a graduate student, I held a two year assistantship as a para-professional counselor in the Career Development Center, serving as the interim Counselor for the College of Fine and Applied Arts in my final semester. While at Appalachian, I focused my experiential education on growing as a career advisor by completing internships with UNC Asheville's Career Center and Haywood Community College's Educational and Career Counseling, as well as volunteering for two semesters as a Peer Guide in Peer Career. Additionally, I served as a practicum intern for one semester with Appalachian and the Community Together (ACT) focusing on service-learning. Before graduate school, my transition into student affairs started with an internship with Winthrop University's Center for Career and Civic Engagement and a service year in AmeriCorps VISTA with The Center for Diversity Education located on UNC Asheville's campus. My true passion is career development and exploration. I enjoy helping students to discern their vocations and to create their vision of a good life. I am honored to be working with the students at Warren Wilson College as a Career Advisor.
