Carla brings years experience in strategic marketing communications and branding. In her consulting work, she helps both emerging and branded companies establish and improve their marketing communication efforts. In alone, she launched a range of companies ranging from established Silicon Valley entities to emerging startups based in Europe whose goal was to reach a North American audience in order to attract mindshare, future partnerships and funding opportunities. Before then, Carla drove marketing communication programs for iRise, a BB visualization software company, where she managed marketing communications and introduced the company to social media technologies. She was responsible for launching its Content Network including the corporate team blog and podcasts, and managed multiple agencies. Prior to iRise, she led the turnaround of Barras domestic PR program and initiated a European-based PR program once the financial analytics firm was acquired by Morgan Stanley and merged with MSCI. Before Barra, she was on the management team at Niehaus Ryan Wong considered one of the must-have PRbranding agencies for the dotcom era lauded by the entrepreneur and VC communities alike. Carla worked with small, often unbranded companies, pure-play dotcoms, in addition to emerging BB companies. From having worked on both corporate and product launches and having seen companies through positioning challenges during mergers and acquisitions, she has a well-rounded knowledge of corporate image challenges and growth opportunities from a strategic communications perspective. Carla is a founding member of Socialbrite.org, a hub for all things social media for non-profits and social good organizations which ranks in the top sites on social media. She is a consultant with them and also co-curates the Twitter stream, and Mobile Corner section. Socialbrite's content has been featured on the very popular iPad app Flipboard.
