And I had a great time helping organize the government web communications community. In , I started the government Web Content Managers Forum - now more than , federal, state, and local government web communicators across the country who share best practices and lessons learned. I also co-chaired the Federal Web Managers Council from its creation until I retired in , with years of federal service.Public service is a passion - not a job. So as a retiree, I teach courses and do a little consulting now and then. I'm an advocate for Plain Language, and I've been honored to judge both the Clearmark Plain Language Awards in the U.S. and the WriteMark Plain Language Awards in New Zealand.
