I’m going to start by saying, “Don’t hire a Social Media Manager to take over all your social media! Hire a manager to work with you to build your connections, reputation and grow your business.†I was the first registered Virtual Assistant in the province of New Brunswick and currently celebrating over 8 years in the industry. One day I got a call from Dan Martell @flowtown and he introduced me to Twitter. Social media itself was only a few months old and I was hooked. I’ve been training, reading and learning ever since. I call myself a Social Media Student. I wanted to give everyone a heads up for our plans for 2011. I’m going to be very active with the Atlantic Internet Marketing Conference again this year (AIM) but they have made some changes. They are hosting 2 workshops instead of a 2-day conference. One will be in May and the other will be in September. Dates and places have not been confirmed, so I’ll keep you posted. I’m also working on hosting some Webinars this year. We’re looking at doing some training in a number of social media areas including iframes in Facebook. If you have a topic you want to learn more about, please let me know and I’ll try and include that in our list. We’re always looking for guest bloggers. Our goal this year is to increase the amount of information available to our readers. If you have something you want to share, let me know. We promote our blog via all our social media outlets so it will give you some great exposure.
